memoirs of a geisha [edited!]

for those of you who didn't know, i went to japan for a homestay program with 18 other people from all across the country. i left on the 25th of november and came back on the 2nd. yes, very short trip, only 8 days.

it's exciting and scary all at the same time because it's the first time i'll be travelling alone without the family to a land far far away (besides that time i went to singapore to see lch, which i don't think counts because it's just singapore~) and also the communication barrier because i don't speak a word of japanese. all i remembered saying the whole time was arigato gazaimasu and hai! HAHAHAHA if you don't know what those mean, please bury yourself in a hole and wait for an earthworm to tell you what they mean... OMG SAMPAT.

*before i forget, happy belated birthday to CHRISTOPHER CHUA, GAVIN CHOONG and VOON WAN TING! and sorry i couldn't make it to your wedding miss FOO CHIN SUAN!*

missed out on so many things when i was in japan :(

saying bye to the parents at the airport before leaving to japan.

this is seong seong, she's 21. we were praticing how to be lala so we blend in with the japanese :D

this is gan. she only likes people to call her gan but her name is actually gan hui wan. i seriously don't know whats wrong with your name lor, HAHAHA. she's 19 and she can sing! like mariah carey or something.

this is of course miss tham ying hui, my neighbour and my friend since i was maybe 7 :)

this is her true self. she was holding back in the previous picture!

it was a six and half hour flight to narita airport, then another one hour flight to nagoya. sien, i don't like long plane rides.

waiting for plane to take off.

OMG! they had SHOW LO on some talk show! notice the word GORGEOUS. i watched it 3 times on the plane! i love you japan airlines :) you made my flight an awesome one! (sorry you had to tilt your head to the right)

clouds like cotton candy, don't you just wan't to jump on them :D gan said that i would fall straight through -.- she's so evil.

oh ya, i sat with gan on the plane, i annoyed the hell out of her :DDD i'm so proud of myself!

it was a night flight, but they still gave us this lunchbox to feast on. it's funny how it's called a lunchbox when we're eating it at 2 in the morning.

this riceball thingy is shooo yummy :) and i had my teddy with me the whole time.

probably 3 hours later... i lost track of time on the plane. it just seemed like forever.

daylight. i think it was like 5am malaysian time.

got to the airport at 6 something in the morning, and the first thing(s) we saw were vending machines!

japan is full of them!

she was so exited to see vending machines :D

OKAY I SHALL JUST FAST FORWARD AND DO A SUMMARY BECAUSE I'M LAZY :D

very first meal in japan : mcdonalds!! and they have pork!

and weird stuff like cabonara burgers!!

had lunch in gifu city where there was this 'magic water' fountain outside the restaurant, if you drink it you get good health, properity and yadda yadda.

this is actually all fish, just cooked differently. fried, steamed, and... uh, shredded?

everybody loves me :)

after lunch we went to visit a junior high school somewhere in gifu.

apparently farting in the hallways is forbidded. lol.

the hosts actually took us around and showed us how the classes were like, so cool sia! you see that big tv screen on the left?

it's an electronic blackboard o.o

look! penang! malaysians have been here before -.-

see! every classroom also got...

japanese pancaragam!!! memories~ hahaha. awesome! and they're all only 13/14 years old.

some random photo of me and some random guy from the band! haha, the most good looking one. in fact i think japan is lacking of cute guys, the girls are all hot tho...

group picture with the band. SPOT ME if you can!

soon after, we were assigned to be picked up by our individual foster families. every one got picked up one by one, i was the last -.- actually they didn't even come get me, i followed my friend's foster family's car back to where i was suppose to go, because they stay nearby.

anyways, got there, greeted my family, only the father and son were home, mom and daughter was out. had an extremely awkward dinner in extremely awkward silence, they don't  speak much english, actually they don't speak english at all, and i don't speak japanese. after the silent dinner, i took out the presents i was going to give them, mostly traditional malaysian stuff like dodol, batik and whatnot.

then the mother and daughter came home, i was so relieved to see female inhabitants! the mother told me she was taking chisa (daughter) to dance class in half an hour, and asked if i'd like to go along. so i went laaa! didn't want to be stuck at home with the father and son. [he is cute btw :) but he's 14. so sad. HAHAHAHA oh his name is shota.] and it was hip hop dance so of course i go la! and omg she can dance! she's 12!

i'm just typing alot now cause i lazy caption my photos d. you just figure it out for yourselves la. btw, everything up til here is only DAY 1!

this is chisa! she's really pretty!

this is shota. typical japanese lala zai. haha, everytime i wanna take his picture he says, wait! then he pulls his hair to the front and gives me this lala smile...

the place i slept for two nights. they gave me four comforters and a heater! the heater was my best friend, i placed it in front of my face and blasted it to full speed while i slept! yes, it's freaking cold at night!

END OF DAY 1! YES, A VERY LONG DAY!

DAY 2;

woke up early in the morning, went to chisa's room to wake her up, found her sleeping under her table because that's where the heater is.

after breakfast, i went to walk magot the dog with shota and his dad.

okay, the rest is just scenery while walking the dog, you may skip this part if you want :)

blogger is being an ass, wait ahhh~
